Il y a quelques temps, j'ai acheté "1loup.net" pour compléter "1loup.be" et j'avais dit que je raconterais... c'est maintenant :

Lors de "l'affaire Garfieldd", alors qu'il bloguait sous pseudonyme, on lui a reproché d'être reconnaissable. Or, si je ne m'abuse, lorsque l'on possède un nom de domaine, n'importe qui peut faire un whois pour obtenir nos coordonnées. Le raccourci est peut-être facile mais doit-on penser qu'il est interdit aux fonctionnaires de posséder un domaine ?

Bref, moi-même fonctionnaire, je blogue sous pseudonyme, je suis en conformité avec la LCEN (mon hébergeur possède mon identité et le nom de mon hébergeur est disponible dans les "mentions légales") mais le whois me posait un problème.

En effet, je ne vois pas de quel droit n'importe quel quidam (voire dérangé, déglingué, homophobe, j'en passe et des meilleurs) pourrait obtenir mes coordonnées en faisant un simple whois sur mon domaine.

Et c'est là que GoDaddy intervient en partenariat avec Domains By Proxy. Il y a une option (payante) qui s'appelle le "private registration". Pour comprendre, c'est assez simple, voici ce que vous obtenez en faisant un whois sur 1loup.net :

L'option n'est en ce moment pas très chère : 1.95 $ US (au lieu de 8.95) par an.
Je suis bien le propriétaire du domaine.

Tout mail adressé à 1LOUP.NET@domainsbyproxy.com m'est transmis directement. Là, par contre, attention, par défaut il y a un antispam qui est "trop" efficace, le fai Free est dans une liste "noire" et tout mail en provenance d'un abonné Free est considéré comme spam et détruit. J'ai donc désactivé l'antispam de DomainsByProxy.

Bref, j'ai acheté mon "1loup.net" pour 3 ans avec l'option "private registration" et cela m'est revenu à 28.74 euros (frais de ma banque pour opération à l'étranger compris).
